All good books, although I'm starting to see the formula in all Crichton books. New technology, team, isolation + chaos, escape, technology destroyed! But I still like them.

Michael Crichton: De Verloren Wereld (The Lost World: Jurassic Park)

Sequel to Jurassic Park, the first and only sequel Crichton wrote. It's much better than the movie, but I guess it lacks the novelty of other books.

Michael Ende: Die Unendliche Geschichte

The Neverending Story in its original language: German. I hope to improve my German with this book while having fun.

Frank Herbert: Dune

Good science fiction book. Very popular (it has a lot of sequels), although the atmosphere made me a bit uncomfortable. Too far away in space, too far into the future, but still a great read.

Robin Cook: Experiment

No, not the German movie about the prison experiment. Another medical thriller with a young student doctor. Very (frustratingly) improbable at times. Not as good as Terminal.

Brian Aldiss: In De Nadagen (Greybeard)

A science fiction book from the '60s. 20 years ago, a nuclear disaster happened and all the people became sterile.... No children = no future, right? People become older and older and realize they have nothing to live for.... or do they?

Michael Crichton: Jurassic Park

My first Crichton book and still 1 of my favorites. The book is even better than the movie, which says a lot.

Allistair MacLean: Nacht Zonder Einde / Booreiland X-13 (Night Without End / Fear Is The Key)

2 books in 1 paperback. My mother gave it to me because she thought I should read Night Without End and yes it's good. But I liked Fear Is The Key a lot as well.

Jane Austen: Pride and Prejudice

It's more of a women's book, but I still liked it a lot. I must be one of those few readers who isn't in love with Mr. Darcy. ;-)

Michael Crichton: Prooi (Prey)

Nano-technology going crazy, it taught me a lot about one of the most exciting technologies. Good book, though not his best.

James Clavell: Shogun

The tale of the first Englishman to arrive in Japan, after the Portugese had been there for 75 years. The story is loosely based on history. Good book!!

Michael Crichton: State of Fear

Some eco-terrorists believe in global warming so much that they're willing to cause catastrophes just to get attention. A handful of people travel around the world to stop them. Great book, which also makes you wonder if global warming is true.

Robin Cook: Terminaal (Terminal)

My first Robin Cook book and I think it won't be the last. Surprisingly, I really enjoy the 'medical thriller'. I have no idea how good Terminal is compared to his other books, but I liked it. A student doctor discoveres some 'interesting' methods used...

Michael Crichton: The Andromeda Strain / The Terminal Man / The Great Train Robbery

Another combo of 3 MC books. I just finished reading The Andromeda Strain, which wasn't as good as his others (probably because it was one of his first). The Great Train Robbery is his only non-fiction work that I own.

JRR Tolkien: The Hobbit

I don't have this book myself, but read it twice. It's a good and cute story.

JRR Tolkien: The Lord of the Rings

Great book, what else is there to write? A fairy tale for adults.

Charles Palliser: The Quincunx

I started this book almost 2 years ago but never got past the 3rd chapter. Now I bought it for €1. Apperantly it's about a huge plot in the early years of the 19th century and what that does to the main character. I've heard it's hard to understand.

JRR Tolkien: The Silmarillion

Great stories that took place ages before The Lord of the Rings. A bit hard to read in the beginning but it gets better.

H. G. Wells: The War of the Worlds

This book was published some years before 1900 and it shows it. It's pretty boring by 21th century standards, but it's interesting to see Wells' view on the future. Heat-beams? Oh you mean lasers! I'm struggling to finish this book.

Michael Crichton: Tijdlijn (Time Line)

Uses the concept of the multiverse (multiple parallel universes) to travel back to medieval times. I enjoyed it, I should read it again when I have the time.

JRR Tolkien: Unfinished Tales

The title says a lot: all stories are unfinished or very short. Some are great, others are pretty boring. It took me a year or 2 before I finished this book.

Chrétien de Troyes: Yvain le chevalier au lion

A French kids book about a knight who wants to join King Arthur's army. Apperantly he finds a lion. It has some extra pages with history and school-like exercises in it.

<msn:type>booklist</msn:type><live:type>booklist</live:type><live:typelabel>Book list</live:typelabel><cf:itemRSS>http://canyarion.spaces.live.com/Lists/cns!CFB5C9AABAE03C6B!104/feed.rss</cf:itemRSS><dcterms:modified>2008-04-02T16:47:45Z</dcterms:modified>

Custom List: Awesome music moments

Awesome music moments

Paul Simon - The Obvious Child 3:10-3:50

The song goes into a slow, quiet drum session, speeding and building up towards a harmonious explosion of sound. Really.

Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight 3:39-3:45-the end

Great drums.

Liquido - Narcotic

The moment the electric guitars jump in after the first 20 seconds.... For a better effect, turn up the volume at that point.

Boudewijn de Groot - Jimmy

How often can you sing the same line and still keep it great to listen to? "Maar liever dat nog, dan het bord voor z'n kop van de zakenman, want daar wordt ie alleen maar slechter van!"

Jacques Brel - Fernand 3:20-the end

Great dramatic piece of music to end a quiet song.

<msn:type>list</msn:type><live:type>list</live:type><live:typelabel>List</live:typelabel><cf:itemRSS>http://canyarion.spaces.live.com/Lists/cns!CFB5C9AABAE03C6B!214/feed.rss</cf:itemRSS><dcterms:modified>2007-12-09T18:01:55Z</dcterms:modified>

Custom List: Film lijst

Film lijst

Garden State

One of the best movies I know. It just gets me every time I see it.

Dumb and Dumber

Best comedy I know, sorry for all those people who don't like this kind of humor.

Minority Report

Future thriller of Spielberg, I like it.

Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (Amelie)

It's in my top 5 best movies. How can somebody not love this movie?

Jurassic Park

Saw it around a 100 times (no kidding). I can almost say every line of the movie... and guess what, I still like watching it from time to time.

Aliens (Alien 2)

Action-adventure doesn't get much better than this... It's in my top 10.

Memento

Cool concept of showing the movie backwards. I have to see it again before I know how much I really like it.

Im Juli

A German/Turkish love story with a happy ending! Go watch this.

<msn:type>list</msn:type><live:type>list</live:type><live:typelabel>List</live:typelabel><cf:itemRSS>http://canyarion.spaces.live.com/Lists/cns!CFB5C9AABAE03C6B!106/feed.rss</cf:itemRSS><dcterms:modified>2007-02-10T23:18:26Z</dcterms:modified>
